When someone asks me, “How are you?” I often have a difficult time answering because, for me, that question requires perspective. One of my favorite spiritual practices is taking seasonal retreats, even just for a few hours. I ponder questions like these:
How have I been spending my time? What activities have I been participated in? Have they been life-giving or life-draining? What habits have I been cultivating (especially subconsciously)? What thoughts most often occupy my mind? Do I feel clear-headed and confident, or foggy and anxious? How is it with my soul?
Then I can spend time asking Jesus what He thinks of me and how I’ve been living. Together we move forward with intention, resetting for the season to come.
To incorporate this type of mindfulness exercise with the physical practice of yoga makes beautiful sense. It helps me know how it is with my soul, yes, as well as with my body. Yoga helps me pay attention to what’s going on inside of me. Yoga is a tool for drawing near to God and noticing God’s presence in my world, both internally and externally.
Time is one of the things over which we have no control. It cannot be stopped or manipulated and it flows in only one direction – at least as far as we know. It can, however, be sanctified.

4 seasons + 4 sessions
I invite you to join me in living each season with intention. When our calendars nod to the impending weather changes, let us pause to reflect on the previous three months and reset for the season to come.
On the Saturday nearest the equinox or solstice, we will meet on our mats for a 2 hour mini-retreat. We flow through a 45 minute yoga sequence, be guided through time of personal reflection, have fun working on yoga pose breakdowns, and close with a gentle yoga practice.
Your mind and body will be refreshed, and you’ll be ready to enter into the season to come with intention.
